Getting Started with Gopaniya

Creating Your Account

Visit the Gopaniya website and click on "Get Started" button.

Choose your plan - Free or Premium (you can always upgrade later).

Enter your email address and create a strong master password.

Important: Your master password cannot be recovered if you forget it. Write it down and store it in a secure location.

Verify your email by clicking the link sent to your inbox.

5

Log in with your email and master password to access your vault.

Installing Browser Extension

Download the extension from your browser's extension store (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, etc.).

Click "Add to Browser" and confirm the installation.

Click the Gopaniya icon in your browser toolbar.

Log in with your master password to unlock the extension.

Enable auto-fill in the extension settings for seamless password entry.

Tip: Pin the extension to your toolbar for quick access!

Adding Your First Password

Click "Add Password" button in your vault.

Enter the website URL (e.g., amazon.com).

Add your username or email for that site.

Enter your password or use the password generator to create a strong one.

Tip: Use our password generator for maximum security!

Add optional notes (security questions, backup codes, etc.).

Click "Save" - your password is now encrypted and stored securely!

Managing Your Passwords

Organizing Your Vault

1

Create folders to organize passwords by category (Work, Personal, Finance, etc.).

Use tags to add multiple labels to passwords for better searchability.

Mark favorites by clicking the star icon for quick access to frequently used passwords.

Use the search bar to quickly find any password by name, URL, or tags.

Tip: Regularly review and delete old, unused accounts to keep your vault clean!

Using Auto-Fill

Navigate to a login page where you've saved credentials.

Click the Gopaniya icon that appears in the login field.

Select the account you want to use (if you have multiple).

4

Your credentials are auto-filled instantly and securely!

Security Note: Always verify the URL before auto-filling to avoid phishing sites!

Using the Password Generator

Click the generator icon when adding or editing a password.

Adjust the length (we recommend at least 16 characters).

Select character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols).

Click "Generate" to create a strong, random password.

5

Click "Use Password" to apply it to your account.

Best Practice: Use a unique, generated password for every account!

Security Features

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (Premium)

Go to Settings > Security in your vault.

Click "Enable 2FA" and choose your preferred method (Authenticator App recommended).

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.).

4

Enter the 6-digit code from your app to verify.

5

Save your recovery codes in a secure location (not in Gopaniya!).

Critical: Recovery codes are your only way to access your account if you lose your authenticator device!

Running a Security Check-up

Go to Vault > Security Check-up.

Review weak passwords - these are easy to crack and should be changed.

3

Check reused passwords - using the same password across multiple sites is risky.

4

Update old passwords that haven't been changed in over a year.

5

Use our generator to create strong, unique replacements for flagged passwords.

Recommendation: Run a security check-up quarterly to maintain optimal security!

Setting Up Emergency Access (Premium)

Go to Settings > Emergency Access.

Click "Add Trusted Contact" and enter their email.

Set the wait time (how long before they can access your vault after requesting).

4

Your contact receives an invitation - they must accept it via email.

5

If needed, they can request access - you'll be notified and can approve or deny.

Important: Only grant emergency access to people you completely trust!

Multi-Device Sync

Adding a New Device

1

Install Gopaniya on your new device (mobile app or browser extension).

2

Log in with the same email and master password.

3

If you have 2FA enabled, enter the code from your authenticator app.

4

Your vault syncs automatically - all passwords are now accessible on this device!

Note: Free users can access passwords on one device type (desktop OR mobile). Premium users get unlimited devices!

How Syncing Works

Changes sync automatically whenever you're connected to the internet.

To manually sync, pull down to refresh (mobile) or click the sync icon (desktop).

Check sync status in Settings > Devices to see when each device last synced.

4

Conflict resolution - if the same password is edited on multiple devices, the most recent change wins.

Using Gopaniya Offline

1

Your vault is cached locally on each device for offline access.

2

You can view and copy passwords even without internet connection.

3

Changes made offline are saved locally and sync when you reconnect.

4

Offline indicator appears in the app when you're not connected.

Tip: Sync before traveling to ensure you have the latest passwords offline!

Import & Export Data

Importing from Your Browser

Export from your browser:

Chrome: Settings > Passwords > ⋮ > Export passwords
Firefox: Passwords > ⋮ > Export Logins
Safari: File > Export Passwords
Edge: Settings > Profiles > Passwords > ⋮ > Export

Save the CSV file to a secure location on your computer.

In Gopaniya, go to Settings > Import Data.

4

Select your browser type and upload the CSV file.

Review the preview and click "Import" to add all passwords to your vault.

6

Delete the CSV file from your computer after successful import.

Security Warning: CSV files contain unencrypted passwords. Delete them immediately after import!

Migrating from Another Password Manager

Export from your current password manager (LastPass, 1Password, Bitwarden, etc.).

Save the exported file (usually CSV or JSON format).

3

In Gopaniya, go to Settings > Import Data and select your previous password manager.

4

Upload the file and review the data to be imported.

5

Click "Import" to transfer all your passwords, notes, and folders.

6

Securely delete the export file and verify all data imported correctly.

Exporting Your Data

Go to Settings > Export Data.

Choose export format (CSV for spreadsheets, JSON for other password managers).

Enter your master password to confirm the export.

4

Save the file to a secure location (preferably encrypted storage).

5

Use for backup purposes or to migrate to another service.

Remember: Exported files contain unencrypted data. Handle with extreme care and delete when no longer needed!
